Janine Maritz – Founder & Director
Janine leads La Culla with compassion, courage, and a deep-rooted belief that care should never be limited by convenience. Her guiding principle, “If we can, we must,” is more than a philosophy — it is the foundation of every initiative, every act of service, and every life touched through the organisation. Her vision is both simple and powerful: to meet as many needs as possible and contribute to meaningful, lasting change. Janine lives this vision daily with quiet strength and unwavering commitment, choosing action where it matters most. Through her leadership, La Culla stands as a promise of hope, dignity, and real support for those who need it most.
Nicci Acker – Hands-on Supporter
Nicci is the kind of person who turns intention into action. She brings energy, dedication, and a willingness to get involved wherever needed, always leading by example. Guided by her belief that “we only die once, but every day is an opportunity to live with purpose,” Nicci shows up consistently, understanding that even the smallest acts of care can create meaningful impact. Her presence within La Culla reflects a genuine commitment to making a difference, one step at a time.
Jackie Sithole – Operations Support
Jackie is a driving force behind the day-to-day work of La Culla, providing steadfast support to both the team and the community. Known for her reliability and heart-led approach, she consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that no need goes unnoticed. Her work is grounded in compassion and guided by the belief that collective effort can uplift and empower those facing difficult circumstances. Amanda McDonald – Events Coordinator
Amanda brings creativity, organisation, and heart to every event she touches. Inspired by the words, “You may know my name but not my story,” Amanda approaches her work with compassion and understanding, always mindful of the deeper impact behind every initiative. Delene Heuvel – Community Support
Delene brings resilience, empathy, and a deep sense of purpose to her role within La Culla. Letishia Charles – Social Media Manager
